Full Moon in Sagittarius 2025

On Wednesday, June 11 at 3:45 am EDT, the Moon’s chalice will become full at 20 degrees 40 minutes Sagittarius, to fully oppose the Sun in Gemini.

Due to its leading proximity to the solstice points, the Gemini/ Sagittarius axis is perhaps the most unstable place in the zodiac, and the final decans of the territories compound this instability to its highest degree. The final faces of all Mutable signs represent the death and sacrifice of a seasonal god who is to be reborn in the new season.

A full Moon in Jupiter’s highly aspirational and crusading fire sign gives us courage in the face of adversity, and faith in our projected worldview which guides us in the darkness- whatever worldview that may be, flawed as it may be. Sagittarius seeks to synthesize the dual natures of humanity, the immanent, instinctual, animal and embodied, with the aspirational, intentional, conscious and spiritually aligned, and to harness this awesome power toward self-transformation.

Our understanding of the relationship between these 2 essential natures of man is a far deeper subject than I can do justice here: suffice to say, this is perhaps the most central topic to the Sagittarius/ Gemini axis.

Sagittarius’ final decan is ruled by Saturn according to the Chaldean order, and the Sun according to triplicity; the final decan of Gemini where the Sun will reside is also ruled by Saturn (triplicity) and Sun (Chaldean). This is one of the few sets of opposing decans that mirror one another in rulership.

Saturn and Sun are not a harmonious pairing, on any side of the Zodiac.

e culmination of the quest, where there can be no room for error. This is a place where kings are deposed, or manage to put down the rebellion; the victor must draw on all of his resources to make it through this extraordinary challenge. Any slip up, any laziness or self doubt can lead to a catastrophic end, no matter what had been achieved or lost prior to this point.

Someone, or some part of ourselves, must die here to move the Sacred Year forward.

The Sun at 20 degrees 40 minutes of Gemini is confronted with myriad possibilities. As the bounty of the season increases exponentially, we can only respond by becoming reductive. There may be adversity in the fertile season, from flood, fire, sickness, accident, war or deception, but the greatest threat is from a failure to evaluate the path we find ourselves on at all, to allow unproductive and self-destructive tendencies to fester or reign, and to lack resolve and direction. There is always a path that leads toward the light (Solar), and one that leads toward the dark (Saturnian). The Sun can also blind us, this time of year the Sun is so strong that we can be lulled into complacency and sloth, and fear of the dark can quietly fester if left unaddressed, even when the days are long.
