New Moon in Aries 2025: Weaponized Testosterone

The New Moon in Aries at 9 degrees happens on March 29, as Neptune is about to make its final departure from Pisces into Aries for the next 140 years or so; retrograde Mercury is poised to zip back into Pisces, and about to cross Neptune’s path right on the equinoctial point. Venus is retrograding to revisit her point of highest exaltation at 28 degrees Pisces, in close company with the Dragon’s Head, Rahu.

Mars, ruler of Aries, is picking up steam in the final decan of Cancer, the sign of his Fall. He is applying to a trine with Saturn in Pisces within 2 degrees. Mars is squaring the lunation by sign, receiving the exalted Sun, and in mutual reception with the Moon.

The exalted Sun in Aries tends to outshine and outrank most problematic aspects of a chart; this lunation takes place in the final degree of the Mars’ ruled decan, a place of raw individuation and self assertion. Art representing this decan most often features a man with an axe, a tool of war and also of construction, demonstrating the potential both for brutality, and for cutting through thickets of bullshit to get to the truth. Sun here leads by brute force and seeks tangible results, without regard for diplomacy or tact.

The chastened and sunburnt Moon in Aries suffers the heat and testosterone-laden bluster of the radically masculine Aries season, in Mars’ decan: this is not a place to hide on the couch, nor can she take quiet comfort in childlike (or drug-addled) reverie, which may be tempting with Neptune nearby. Artemis is known to be an archer, and her arrows to be poisoned (another Neptunian attribute); what is not well known in our day and age is that the poisons the Amazons used would cause the male target to suffer satyriasis, an erection that could last long enough to kill him, if the antidote were not applied in time.

The excessive testosterone of the Aries season can be weaponized.

Mars/ Moon are in mutual reception by Sign and also by decan, as Mars is in a Moon/ Jupiter ruled decan of Cancer, known for bringing wealth and abundance. Fallen Mars in this decan may be suspicious of gifts, and may rapidly burn his extra cash on drones, bombs, rocket launchers and tanks while the cupboards run dangerously bare. Mars in Cancer brings the threat of war home. Mutual reception with Moon may help moderate this tendency- perhaps someone should inform the European Union’s war pigs.

Mercury prepares to don the scuba gear, going from rapid-fire military precision Aries to meet the toxic, corrosive emotional brine of Neptune in Pisces- for the last time in several generations. In this moment, Mercury will relive 13 years of visitations with the Lord of the Depths, a particularly challenging encounter for the archetype of the scientist and the businessman. Mercury is also the patron of fraud, and meetings with Neptune will tend to push him into the dank world of criminality, honeypots and blackmail. Expect new revelations of celebrity spook sex scandals.

Venus retrograding to her watery point of exaltation sounds lovely after her spicy and steamy combustion exposure in Aries, but she finds the Head of the Dragon there, and will be applying to a trine with Mars. Rahu brings the whole party down to a shady event, while it may not necessarily be criminal, Venus’ motives may seem suspect, her innocence besmirched, and the applying angle with Mars heats her up, while the applying conjunction with Saturn cools her off. Sounds like a recipe for upper respiratory issues.
